Who Can Join?

Participation in the Federation is available to organisations which undertake or support education, research, or research and development in Australia. This includes tertiary education institutions, research organisations, government organisations, and companies that provide products or services to the education and research sector. Participation is subject to approval by the Executive Committee.

Test Environment

Thinking about joining the Federation? Institutions and organisations considering joining the Australian Access Federation are free to use the Federation’s Test Environment to test and experiment with their own services. Technical documentation to assist you in the Test Environment is available on the AAF Wiki. Access to the Test Environment is granted by the Federation on request via enquiries@aaf.edu.au.

Sign the Commitment Form

To become a member of the Federation you will need to sign the Commitment to the Rules for Participants form available in the AAF Joining Engagement Pack and send a pdf copy to join@aaf.edu.au or mail to the Australian Access Federation, 2nd Floor, 88 Musk Avenue, Kelvin Grove, Qld 4059. Please note that the form must be signed by an authorised representative of your organisation.

Approval by the Executive Committee

Once the signed Commitment form has been received, your membership application will be put forward to the AAF Interim Executive Committee for approval or rejection of the application.

Pay Subscription Fee

There will be an annual subscription fee for AAF participation. For 2010, the fee is waived for all Participants. For more details on subscription fees for 2011 see AAF Subscription Fees.

Move to the Production Environment

Once the signed Commitment form has been approved by the Interim Executive Committee, the AAF Technical Support team will be available to assist you with transitioning your services from the test space to the production mode.
